Pulitzers

The Pulitzer Prize gold medal award

The Pulitzer winners have been announced: how many have you read? I’ve only read Washington: A Life, which I LOVED, and this year, all the other winners looks really interesting as well, from fiction to nonfiction to poetry. I can easily see myself reading all the other four winners this year.

How about you? What have you read, what would you like to read?

  1. I haven’t read any of them, I’ll confess, but I found the list of past prize winners and finalists in the biography/autobiography category so exciting — enough reading and inspiration for years!

  2. Marnie

I read Jennifer Egan’s A Visit from the Goon Squad last year and enjoyed it, although since it’s one of those ensemble novels (different chapters devoted to different characters), I definitely enjoyed parts of the book more than others. The main female character around whom the story revolves is probably the least interesting.

  3. I agree with Marnie on A Visit from the Goon Squad. On your rec., Jackie, I’m putting Washington: A Life into my queue…

I’m wary of the shifting viewpoints, but willing to give it a try. Laurie, Ron Chernow’s work is consistently excellent–his biography of Alexander Hamilton is wonderful also.
